Covington Rescue Squad

Covington Rescue Squad, Inc. is a 501 C3 non-profit emergency medical service corporation contracted with the Village of Covington to provide EMS services. The department was established in 1973 as a part of the Covington Special Fire Department. On June 29, 1999, Covington Rescue Squad split from the fire department and became incorporated on its own. Our purpose is to provide emergency medical service to the Village of Covington, Newberry Township and the surrounding area. The current department consists of one Chief, one Assistant Chief, one Lieutenant and fourteen emergency medical technicians, which includes 9 Basic Emergency Medical Technicians and 8 Paramedics.

Our current apparatus includes Medic 51 - a 2007 Medtec/International ambulance and Medic 52 - a 1996 Mobile Medical/Freightliner ambulance. Both ambulances are equipped as Advanced Life Support units. The current EMS station was built and completed in November of 2004. '

The building provides 10,000 square feet of living space for our members, which includes a kitchen, sleeping/living quarters, offices, exercise room, apparatus bay and a training room.
